Penis discharge occurs when fluid leaks from your penis. Penile Discharge Symptoms<\/h2>\n

\t\tPenile discharge is often accompanied by other symptoms, including the following:<\/p>\n

Dysuria:<\/b> burning on passing urine.
\n Frequency:<\/b> frequent need to pass urine.
\n Nocturia:<\/b> excessive need to urinate at night.
\n Rash:<\/b> a rash in the genital area can be painful or itchy.
\n Swollen glands:<\/b> swollen lymph nodes in the groin.<\/p>\n

What Causes Penile Discharge?<\/h2>\n

\t\tPenile discharge almost always is a sign of infection. Before thinking too far and relating this to diseases such as HIV, let us look at the common infective causes of penile discharge.<\/p>\n

Gonorrhoea<\/b>
\nThis is one of the most common STDs around. It always manifests as white\/yellow\/green discharge from the penis, and painful urination. Unlike men, only 10-20% of women with gonorrhoea have an abnormal discharge. It is curable with Ayurvedic Medication.<\/p>\n

If left untreated for a period of time, it may lead to infertility. It may also enter the bloodstream and cause problems to the skin and joints. <\/b><\/p>\n

Non-specific urethritis (NSU) <\/b>

\nMen aged between 20 and 35 years are most commonly affected. Several different organisms can cause NSU:

\n\u2022\tChlamydia trachomatis
\n\t\u2022\tMycoplasma genitalium
\n\u2022\tUreaplasma urealyticum

\n\u2022\tTrichomonas vaginalis
\n\u2022\tHerpes simplex (rare)<\/p>\n

These names may sound very complicated but a full STD screening would be able to detect these organisms and pinpoint the cause of the penile discharge. However, no cause can be found sometimes. <\/b><\/p>\n

Other causes of penis discharge<\/b>
\nPenis discharge can also be caused by the following:
\n\u2022\tAllergic reactions
\n\u2022\tBalanitis
(inflammation of the foreskin)
\n\u2022\tChemical irritation caused by soaps, spermicides, or bath products
\n\u2022\tDermatitis
\n\u2022\tPriapism (sustained erection that is painful)
\n\u2022\tPenile cancer
\n\u2022\tUrinary tract infections<\/p>\n

Complications of Penis Discharge<\/h2>\n

\t\tBecause penis discharge can be due to serious diseases, failure to seek treatment can result in serious complications and permanent damage. Once the underlying cause is diagnosed, it is important for you to follow the treatment plan that you and your health care professional design specifically for you to reduce the risk of potential complications including:<\/p>\n

\u2022\tDifficulty with or inability to retract the foreskin
\n\u2022\tScarring and narrowing of the opening of the penis
\n\u2022\tScarring of the penis
\n\u2022\tSpread of infection
\n<\/b>\t\t<\/p>\n

\t\tIf you have discharge from your penis that is not urine, pre-ejaculate, or ejaculate, see your doctor. You may have a condition that needs treatment.<\/p>\n
